A team of experts conducted field visit to the Moroccan and Jordanian Universities. The University of Montpellier and the University of Milan undertook on 17-19 January 2017 the visit of the Univeristy Mohammed V of Rabat, the University Sultan Moulay Slimane in Béni Mellal,  and the University Ibn Tofail in Kénitra. On 14-16  February 2017, representatives from the European University Association and the University of Barcelona, visited the Jordan University for Science and Technology in Irbid, the Al Balqa Applied University in Al-Salt, and the University of Jordan located in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

These field visits allowed to get a better understanding of the existing research facilities and undergoing procedures and general operations. Meetings were held with both university’s top management such as Vice Presidents for Research, Head of Department, and also Researchers and Administrators.

The interviews and meetings gave the different expert teams the possibility to better understand and see on-site the current capacities, strengths and challenges of the concerned institutions. The exchanges took place in a true spirit of collaboration and interactions were made in total openess, frankness, and mutual respect. It also allowed for a stronger ownership and an increased awareness of the project’s objective at the different levels of the visited Higher Education Institutions.

The reports of these visits will feed in the Roadmap for Innovation and Research Management as well as the incoming planned activities.
